[Gdal-dev] Issue with 1.4.2 gdalwarp

I was looking into why the 1.4.2 version of GDAL seemed to remove the
geospatial information when attempting to rotate the image to north up. I
ran across this post:

http://lists.maptools.org/pipermail/gdal-dev/2007-June/013287.html

I downloaded FWTools 1.3.7, as suggested here
http://lists.maptools.org/pipermail/gdal-dev/2007-June/013290.html, and
tried to use the gdalwarp that came with the FWTools package. This program
did not remove the geospatial information and gave me a correct result. Is
there a fix for this in a later GDAL version? What version of GDAL was
FWTool 1.3.7 compiled against?

Thanks.
