[gdal-dev] Does OGRLayer::CreateField() suport UNICODE in ver1.4.1 ?

Hi, When i call  OGRLayer::CreateField() to create a field with a Chinese name[UNICODE], i got errors. The driver is ESRI shape. Does OGRLayer::CreateField() suport UNICODE in ver1.4.1 ?
