There have been no recent changes to 
http://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/browser/trunk/gdal/alg/gdalwarpoperation.cpp

It looks like you and me are the only users interested in this patch 
which makes gdalwarp so much faster, simply by avoiding warp operations 
on irrelevant pixels.
