[gdal-dev] GDAL/OGR 1.8.0 Beta2 Released

Folks,

I have prepared a new beta release.  There were few issues identified with
the beta1, but there are some improvements and bug fixes.  Notable ones
include:

  - Support for the ECW 4.1 SDK.
  - Support for the MrSID V8 SDK.
  - Fixes for tricky jpeg-in-tiff bugs.
  - Various improvements to GML/NAS drivers.
  - Added -stats option to gdal_translate
  - Avoid copying statistics/histogram in gdal_translate when altering image.
  - Various improvements to PDF driver.
  - Added AeronavFAA driver to OGR.
  - Fixes for VSI buffered io handler.
  - ESRI JSON improvements to GeoJSON driver.
  - PostGIS 2.0 compatability changes to postgis driver.
  - XML handling fixes for GeoRaster driver.

The full 1.8 release NEWS is available in the gdal/NEWS file in the
release source.  The code can be downloaded from:

Bug reports on regressions since 1.7 are of particular interest, but any
and all testing and bug reporting is helpful.
