[gdal-dev] ogr2ogr custom coordiante system

Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if there are any help files or guides on how to define a custom coordinate system to use with the ogr2ogr.exe utility. I am trying to use it to load a shapefile into a PostGIS database. The shapefile is in a custom Minnesota County coordinate system. When I try to define the -a_srs I get an error message that says SRID is unrecognized. I'm assume this is because both OGR and PostGIS does not have the custom SRID defined. I've also tried -1 as the SRID but the utility doesn't like that either.

How would I define the custom projection so both OGR2OGR utility and PostGIS recognize it?

Regards,
Brian
