I compiled both libs with geos support and the loader gives me
     libgeos_c.so.1 => /usr/lib/libgeos_c.so.1 (0x00007fe171f78000)
     libgeos-3.2.2.so => /usr/lib/libgeos-3.2.2.so (0x00007fe16f29f000)
so that won't be the problem.
