[gdal-dev] Google Maps Engine OGR Driver

Folks,

I'm starting work on an OGR driver for Google Maps Engine (GME), focused on
it's use as a feature store. This should be somewhat similar to the Fusion
Tables driver. GME API docs are at:

  https://developers.google.com/maps-engine/documentation/before-you-begin

It will have (I think) similar auth issues to fusion tables. Features are
exchanged in GeoJSON format.

If anyone is interested in testing or potentially collaborating on this let
me know.

I'd hope to have something operational in a few weeks if I don't get too
distracted.

There are also other aspects of GME that might be interesting at some point
- particularly support for rasters and maps might be exposed through GDAL.
If the feature access goes well I might investigate those in the future.

Best regards,
