Hm. I'm guessing, you have

%define gdal_dir         $HOME/linux-res-6.3/gdal

and the error message is

-6.3/gdal/lib/libgdal.so', needed by
'backend/wbpublic/libwbpublic.so.6.3.4'.

So is the string "$HOME/linux-res-6.3/gdal" somehow not good since it is 
broken in the message? Maybe it should not have "-" (at least three of 
them)?
