The windows makefile in GDAL could also be extended with the targets of creating the installer as part of the GDAL build process.<br>

It would be a convenient way to keep the installation up to date with the frequent changes provided by the buildsystem. It would however be reasonable to get some file hosting capabilities at some other servers to be able to provide the number of downloads are happening this way.<br>
