    If I am interpreting the information correctly on <a

    GeoServer is using Image I/O-Ext 1.0.8 which is using GDAL 1.4.5,
    that is my reason.<br>

      The file exists. However, the GDAL 1.4 branch is no longer
      supported. The latest stable version is 1.8 although 1.7 is also
      supported. Why don't you use the 1.7 version.<br>
