have tried to install the gdal package from </span><a

lang=EN-US> but I get an error message saying that the description file is
missing (Error: Does not appear to be an R package (no DESCRIPTION)).<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class=MsoPlainText><span lang=EN-US>I have also tried to load the hdf4 files
