<p>One point I should probably underline for packagers is the
following part of NEWS.md</p>
<p>## New optional dependencies<br>
<br>
* [muparser](<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://github.com/beltoforion/muparser">https://github.com/beltoforion/muparser</a>) is
*strongly* recommended<br>
to be added as a build and runtime dependency, to provide
nominal support for<br>
C++ VRT expressions.<br>
* [exprtk](<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://github.com/ArashPartow/exprtk">https://github.com/ArashPartow/exprtk</a>) may be added as
a build<br>
dependency (this is a header-only library) to provide support
for advanced<br>
C++ VRT expressions. Note that it causes an increase in libgdal
size of about<br>
8 MB. exprtk support is recommended to be an addition to
muparser support, not<br>
as a replacement.<br>
<br>
I'm raising this since I see that the Debian package hasn't
muparser enabled (as far as I can see in
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://salsa.debian.org/debian-gis-team/gdal/-/blob/experimental/debian/control?ref_type=heads">https://salsa.debian.org/debian-gis-team/gdal/-/blob/experimental/debian/control?ref_type=heads</a>),
whereas muparser is available in Debian:
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://packages.debian.org/sid/libmuparser2v5">https://packages.debian.org/sid/libmuparser2v5</a>)</p>
