[Geodata] Re: [georss] KML into OGC - OpenSearch for SWE

Gregor,

Agree. I would love to see geospatial extensions to OpenSearch.
We currently have data nodes that can output GeoRSS feeds based on
WFS-Simple queries at http://eo1.geobliki.com

The current WFS-Simple filtering is anemic. So using it for distributed
search is a non-starter. It is also non-FireFox mainstream (so non-mass
market). Given that FF has an opensearch plugin, this opensearch capability
would be extremely attractive to us (and easy to discover)

It would not matter what you search, regular nodes or geospatial-enabled
nodes.

If we could come up with some geoextensions queries to OpenSearch (we
already have the GeoRSS ouptuts), I am willing to implement it on GeoBliki
and for everyone try and search for EO-1 imagery.

Pat.
