I suspect that OSM maintainers are highly uneasy with the fact that the
wheel had already been invented before OSM started into life. They're
throwing dirt at almost everyone who reminds them of this situation.
OSM, at least the project maintaniers, prefer to live on an island and
to grow this island instead of connecting it to the mainland - I really
have no idea if this relates somehow to the origins of the project  :-)
