y el Centro de Investigaciones en Geografía Ambiental (CIGA-UNAM) de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, para democratizar las herramientas de la geoinformación, difundir el uso de software libre y abierto, así como la promoción de su uso en la resolución
de problemas socioambientales.</span></p>

responde a una mera traducción de los materiales, sino que incluye una actualización de los contenidos originales con estudios de caso para la región, siguiendo una estructura más secuenciada y pedagógica para facilitar su consulta a un público más amplio.</span></p>
