Me es grato dirigirme a usted a los efectos de anunciarle el lanzamiento de la sexta edición del Premio Pedro Vicente Maldonado a la mejor tesis de doctorado en Cartografía, Geodesia o Información Geográfica ofrecido por el Instituto Panamericano de Geografía
e Historia (IPGH). La convocatoria abrirá el 1-mayo-2026 y cerrará el 31-mayo-2026.

El reglamento y demás detalles están disponibles en la URL que se indica abajo. En pocas palabras, pueden presentarse tesistas de nivel de Doctorado que hayan defendido su trabajo con fecha posterior al 1-enero-2020 y hasta el 31-12-2025. Se requiere que cumpla
una de dos condiciones: a) ser ciudadano de un país miembro del IPGH, independientemente de la universidad que otorgue el título o b) haber egresado de una universidad con título acreditado en un país miembro, independientemente de la nacionalidad del candidato.
Los candidatos deberán elaborar un documento tipo artículo científico, lo que justifica anunciar con suficiente anticipación el llamado. El poster anunciando la convocatoria puede verse en

I am pleased to contact you to announce the Call for Applications to the sixth edition of the "Prize Pedro Vicente Maldonado" for the outstanding PhD dissertation in Cartography, Geodesy and/or Geographic Information organized by the Pan American Institute
of Geography and History (PAIGH). The call will open 1st May 2026 and will close 31th May 2026. In a few words, PhD level students graduated between 1st-January 2020 and 31th, December 2025 can apply. In addition, they should satisfy one of two conditions:
a) be a citizen of any PAIGH member state, irrespective of the granting university or b) have a degree granted by an accredited university in any PAIGH member state, irrespective of the student's citizenship. The candidates must write a scientific paper summarizing
their work, a fact that justify an early announcement. <br>
