We will have over 500 labs established worldwide in the next few years and we need a good team of people to guide us for the future. Welcome to all members of the Advisory Board and thank you for accepting the nominations and we are looking forward for your advice and ideas for expanding ICA-OSGeo initiative http://www.geoforall.org/ expanding globally. Just in this week alone, we got emails that new labs being established in USA, Bolivia , China, South Korea and the latest now in Croatia http://www.geof.unizg.hr/moodletest/mod/book/view.php?id=690&chapterid=11&lang=en

The ICA and OSGeo Presidents will be the co-chairs and permanent members of the Advisory Board. Others will have 3 year term starting date of the Advisory Board being constituted (1 Dec 2013). The Advisory Board will meet once every six months by telemeeting (exact dates will be arranged by doodle poll to suit everyone's convenience) and AB members should keep an eye on the developments and provide strategic advice to the initiative through various forums. As current nodal representatives of the ICA-OSGeo labs initiative Charlie (South America), Anne (Asia and Australia), Helena (North America) and myself (Europe and Africa) will provide full support for the AB and we will report with the latest developments to the AB meetings.

Georg has asked me come up with a first draft for setting up a Terms for Reference for the Advisory Board. Once it is ready, i will circulate to the AB for their ideas/inputs and help finalize this.

Thanks again to all of you for these excellent nominations and i am sure this will help guide us and take this initiative to the next level.

Best wishes,

Suchith

PS: Jason - could you please add a new page in the website listing all the Advisory Board members. We will then be sending out a press release on the Advisory Board establishment through ICA and OSGeo. Thanks.
