The construction of the National CyberGIS Facility is under way, but the new supercomputer needs a name! It is designed to enable data-intensive geospatial computation with more than 7 petabytes of storage, solid state drives, graphics processing units, and dynamically provisioned cloud computing resources. Thanks to a Major Research Instrumentation award from the National Science Foundation, it is a whole new world for high-performance geospatial computation and related sciences!

For more information on this contest and how to submit your ideas, please see http://cybergis.illinois.edu/news/150105_mri.html. The deadline to submit a name is Tuesday, January 20th.
