Charlie

This is so cool. WOW ! I was thinking that could be used in my GEO 100 class - World Regional Geography. So I would be willing to beta test any lessons. etc.

Subject: [Ica-osgeo-labs] Outernet and GeoForAll

Colleagues, especially in Africa GeoForAll nodes,

I've continue to have discussions with Thane Richard, the COO of the "Outernet" platform [1]. An introductory video is here [2].
Thane just told me they have been granted temporary access from an existing satellite provider over Africa to stream a large data stream (I think 100 GB) and they are looking for content to stream.

1) Content to stream?

I think we should come up with a set of software and educational material. For instance, could we stream the QGIS and the MOOC course content your team created Phil? Or other ideas?

2) Would one or more of our nodes in Africa be willing to try and implement an Outernet receiver to test out the receipt process of this?

Cheers,
Charlie
