Maria,

A brilliant idea, beautifully done! WoW!

Especially now during this time of year when we celebrate the warmth of humanity, we need to consider that people are experiencing terrifying hardship. For that, they leave everything, and more often than not, it is to help their children have a life. We need to recognize ourselves as the one world we are. And no one, especially children, should live in terror. If we worship our children for the gods they are to us, what a beautiful world that would be.

Dear colleagues and friends,

I am happy to announce you the launch of the first MIGRATE [1] challenge, that will remain open for one month, from today (December 6, 2016) until January 5, 2017.
MIGRATE - MIGRation pATterns in Europe [2] is a Web mapping gaming application aimed at educating and raising awareness about the phenomenon of migration in Europe. MIGRATE has been developed by a team of researchers [3] from Politecnico di Milano (Italy) within the third call of MYGEOSS project [4], which has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.

This challenge will allow you to get prizes while becoming informed about the hot topic of migration in Europe. Joining the challenge is very easy: you will need just to create an account and play the game as much and as best as you can! At the end of the challenge, the top 10 players in the user ranking will be awarded with Amazon vouchers. See [4] for the details about the prizes and the rules used to compute users' scores.
The application makes full use of open data [6], is fully developed using open source software and is released as open source (code available at [7]) under the EU Public License (EUPL).

Best regards,
Maria
