Global Data Revolution has reached the land sector. Government data portals, open access academic journals, community mapping initiatives and other citizen-generated data - there is a palpable positive drive across the world that allows processes such as data collection to be more inclusive and open.

FAO Kenya<http://www.fao.org/kenya/en/>, Land Portal<https://landportal.org/>, Research4Life<https://www.research4life.org/>, GODAN<https://www.godan.info/> Africa, the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development<http://www.rcmrd.org/> and the Local Development Research Institute<https://www.developlocal.org/> with funding from the European Union and the UKaid have organized a workshop on land data and information ecosystem in Africa. The overall goal of the workshop is to uncover the land data & information ecosystem (including gaps in existence, accessibility or abilities to re-use data) in East Africa and contribute to foster a regional policy dialogue on access to data.

Date and Time : Wed, 8 May 2019 to Fri, 10 May 2019

Location : University of Nairobi, Nairobi, Kenya
