Subject: [ICA Gene & MR] ICA workshop 2023 deadline extension

Dear all,

We decided to extend the deadline for the next workshop on map generalisation and multiple representation until May 12. The workshop will take place in Delft, the Netherlands, on June 13, prior to AGILE conference. In order to favour last minute submissions, we also welcome submissions from people who cannot come in person to the workshop but can attend and present online.

As usual, you can find more details about the workshop on the website of the commission.

Best regards,

Guillaume

Objet : two workshops in 2023

Dear all,

I am happy to announce that the commission will organise two complementary workshops in 2023.

The first workshop will be the 25th ICA Workshop on Map Generalisation and Multiple Representation. It will be held in Delft, the Netherlands, on 13th June, 2023, prior to AGILE conference. As usual, we welcome abstract submissions on on-going research or practical applications of map generalisation techniques. The submission deadline is 28th April 2023. Please find more details on this workshop on the website of the commission (https://generalisation.icaci.org/prevevents/workshop2023.html).

The ICA commission will also be involved in the organisation of a second workshop, called CartAI, which will be held on September 12, 2023 in Leeds, UK, prior to GIScience conference. Though AI techniques applied to multiscale cartography can also be presented in the Delft workshop, the CartoAI workshop focuses on all AI techniques (not only machine learning) that are currently applied to cartography problems, not restricted to map generalisation. The submission deadline for this workshop is 30 June 2023 and you can find more details on the workshop on the dedicated website (https://cartoai.github.io/giscience2023/).

At the ICC 2023, there will not be any workshop, but there might be a business meeting of the commission, we will keep you informed.

We hope to see you all in one of these events this year.

Best regards,

Guillaume
