Dear colleagues

This information might be of interest to researchers globally who are supporting the call for inclusion of the African Union to become full permanent member of G20.

India has been championing actively for the inclusion of the African Union as full permanent member in G20. The African Union was made a permanent member of the G20 today at the New Delhi G20 Summit https://www.g20.org/

This will be a right step towards a just, fair, more inclusive and representative global architecture and governance. India is a strong believer in having a greater Voice of the Global South countries on international platforms, particularly of African countries.

India hosted the Voice of Global South Summit under the theme – ‘Unity of voice, Unity of purpose’ from January 12-13, 2023. It was a new and unique initiative that envisaged bringing together countries of the Global South and share their perspectives and priorities on a common platform across a whole range of issues.

The idea of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ is resonating across the world. This human-centric approach has been welcomed by all. The New Delhi G20 Summit will chart a new path in the human-centric and inclusive development.

Let us all pledge to work collaboratively for a better, more prosperous, and harmonious future.

Best wishes

Suchith
