November doesn't work for South Africa (and I imagine much of the
southern hemisphere) as it is in the middle of school and
university exams.<br>

That's why we don't do the November GIS day here but have a
vendor-neutral GISSA GIS week around mid-March. <br>

Mid-March could be also a good date for northern hemisphere... close
to Easter vacations but not on the middle? Am I forgetting something
remarkable on mid-March in Northern Hemisphere?<br>
