I've been thinking about such thing for a long time and discussed it within a small group of friends back than. GeoCat would be willing to sponsor such type of thing. I would like to see that have the form of a competition where it would be great if ICA OSGeo labs would assist with the process of student applications and evaluation to come to a winner, second and third prize.
