sanitation, electricity). The town planners in the developing world also need to be empowered with the tools they need to build up the digital infrastructures needed for enabling good quality of life for citizens in rapidly developing cities in poor countries
also (without having to pay huge costs for buying properitery software). OpenCitySmart tools like NASA World Wind , Online What if etc are part of the solution to enable this. </font></div>

What if? 2.0 tool has been used by over 150 users in 22 countries to support collaborative land use planning. The OWI source code can be accessed via GitHub and install on your own server. You can also use your own copy of OWI hosted by AURIN free of charge

infrastructure management, transportation, construction, fire and safety, etcetera. Why are cities each left to each duplicate solutions to these identical needs? We are missing a great opportunity to recognize our commonality, and share the burden by dividing
the problem and generating solutions that we can share, evolve and continually optimize.

[OpenCitySmart] and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard; because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are
unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win!” We need a common ^open^ platform that will allow us to add or subtract features we can all build to.
