It has been brought to my attention that as we have already have thematic on VGI and Crowdsourcing lead by Maria and Peter, we should not create additional structures (website, maillists etc) but make use of existing one for the Humanitarian Mapathons . That
is very true.<br>

I'm happy to provide assistance and guidance to people from the GeoForAll network willing to help in mapping humanitarian responses. There is a high need for maps (not only after disasters) and everyone's contribution is precious.<br>
</div>
During the GeoForAll webinar scheduled on May 5 we will introduce the humanitarian mapping with OSM and our experience with children (see [1]).<br>
</div>
About the Ecuador earthquake, I would like to point those interested at the wiki which gives an overview of the situation and provides links to mapping tools, projects and guidelines [2]. I suggest any person interested in contributing mapping to take a look
at this page.<br>

The earthquakes in Nepal last year and Japan and Ecuador last week, highlighted the importance of having a key lead from Geo4All to coordinate our mapathons for providing rapid assistance to HOT and the humanitarian organizations facing the post-event operations.<br>
<br>
Marco Minghini and colleagues at Politecnico di Milano have always provided us with strong leadership on this and i propose that we have Marco Minghini and Politecnico di Milano as our main lead for coordinating Geo4All Humanitarian mapathons .
<br>
<br>
Similar to our webinars (Webinars are now coordinated and lead by Rafael and University of Denver), I suggest that we also have a seperate link in our website to provide details of this (including links to tutorials etc) so in future rapid action can be taken.
