Nelson,

This definitely seems like a bug to me with the GeoMOOSE code. I'll
mark it as a bug and see if we can't find some time to look into it.
You did a great job debug the issue so far.

The incorrect extents are extents from the previous viewport. I thought
this may help eliminate some of the 'random' element behind this but it
looks like GeoMoose isn't always following through on passing to
mapserv.exe the correct extents to highlight. I'd rather not have to
begin editing GeoMoose.js in order to resolve this.

Subject: [Geomoose-developers] Highlight layer sometimes disapears after
2 -5 zoom-to.

When doing a simple attribute search via cgi of any sort, an owner
search address etc. and returning a list of results, when I cycle down
the list to ensure functionality intermittently the highlight will
appear and then disappear. At this point it looks like the
Highlight-Loading layer is stuck...

If I zoom in an out, the actually highlight re appears and stays though
but the Highlight-Loading layer is still stuck in the stack and will
accumulate for every instance this happens which tends to be more and
more consistent as the incidents occur per session.

When examing the src attribute of the layer and trying to generate the
image myself manually, I receive the query miss... but wait, it just
appeared...

Here is the link to the src attribute:

http://localhost/cgi-bin/mapserv.exe?map=/ms4w/apps/GeoMOOSE/maps_medway
demo/select.map&mapext=206777.0431947314 880375.3125 207085.7849302686
880503.25&mapsize=584
242&mode=itemquerymap&MOOSEMODE=itemquerymap&qitem=MAPID&qstring=7_18E&q
layer=Parcels&MOOSETIME=1225723327567

So, I took a look at the extents of the parcel. In this instance, the
culprit parcel will be "7_18E". The javascript link for zooming into
this parcel is as follows:

javascript:Map.itemQueryLayer('Highlight',%20'Parcels',%20'MAPID',%20'7_
18E',%20'/ms4w/apps/GeoMOOSE/maps_medwaydemo/select.map');%20Map.zoomToV
iewString((207329.187500-12)+','+(880406.312500-12)+','+(207422.937500+1
2)+','+(880486.562500+12))

So.... I query miss because the initial extents that GeoMOOSE takes for
the layer generation are a miss... this is happening in both 1.4 and 1.6
now... default installations. The only thing that is at all different is
I have adjusted the height of the heading toolbar but this worked ok in
1.2? I have not tried to roll back to 1.2 as it will be a pain.

FYI, here is the link to the subsequently successful highlight layer
after zooming in and out or what have you...

http://localhost/cgi-bin/mapserv.exe?map=/ms4w/apps/GeoMOOSE/maps_medway
demo/select.map&mapext=207321.86606514858 880405.9574468085
207422.89892518023 880486.9175531915&mapsize=302
242&mode=itemquerymap&MOOSEMODE=itemquerymap&qitem=MAPID&qstring=7_18E&q
layer=Parcels&MOOSETIME=1225723552483

It's worth reiterating that the highlight layer does appear for a
second, typically before the rest are done loading and then disappears.
I really need help with this or at least some type of acknowledgement
that this has happened to anyone else or that it is possible. Can my
system be loading the layers to quickly but not the highlight one? I use
only 15 small layers at the moment... If you want to see this in action
on 1.6, please go to:

Any thoughts are always appreciated..
