[Geomoose-users] Mailing labels Owner/Resident

Brian

It works in theory but the problem comes in with the configuration.php files
that you have to designate what fields you are using. When you get the
results in the tab, they look correct but when you output to mailing labels,
the fields in the configuration file are used.

What is passed to the configuration file from the buffer menu? Could you
put and If Then statement in there that says something like, "IF variable =
parcelowner THEN use these fields ELSE (parcelresident) use these fields"?

Thanks

Blaine

Yes, that would probably work. Hadn't thought of doing it that way.

Brian

Would it be possible to edit the different select files so that when you
clicked on a parcel using the buffer instead of just having parcels in the
dropdown you could have parcel_owner and parcel_resident. Then when it uses
the select.map file you have two different layers; one is called ParcelOwner
the other ParcelResident and those layers have a their own custom template
which either had the owner data or resident data.

Thoughts?

Blaine,

The only way to handle this would be to customize the mailing labels php
script with your own logic. Unfortunately there would be no other way to
handle all the other logic people could come up with for mailing labels.

The only other way to handle this without doing any programming would be to
change your data so you always have something in a field for row one and on
the others they would be blank leaving a blank row on the label.

Hello

When creating mailing labels sometimes you want to send to the owner,
sometimes current resident and sometimes both. I was wondering how other
people have implemented this with GeoMoose.

Thanks

Blaine
