[Geomoose-users] GeoMoose Printing with IIS (and PHP and fpdf) and black output

A Printing FYI...

I'd been struggling with getting GeoMoose printing working with IIS 6 over the last day or so. Most of the problems were with getting the MS4W version of PHP working with IIS 6 (permissions, enabling a Web Service Extension, etc), and were relatively easy to solve.

After I got PHP working, all I would get was a black rectangle in the jpg or pdf where the map data should be. While browsing the GeoMoose2 demo app I saw this in the map file:

  # One day, when the death of IE6 is confirmed, I would love for this
  # to default to agg/png
  IMAGETYPE GIF

Ahh the transparent PNG problem. I had previously switched to AGG/PNG rendering (works fine in IE7, and Firefox). So I switched to Mapserver's internal PNG rendering (giving up anti-aliasing):

  IMAGETYPE PNG

And presto, my layers appeared on my printed output.

I thought I would share this in case others went down this road...
