[Geomoose-users] setting up passwords for GeoMOOSE using IIS 6.0

Bob,
In this case it would be application specific. Like you I have minimal experience with IIS. In IIS I can get GeoMOOSE to run, however I don't know how to get passwords set up.
The layer security that you mentioned sounds interesting. I would consider using it for a project if layer security is easier to set up than putting together a couple different GeoMOOSE applications. How much work is it to set up? Do you have a how to guide?

Mark,

The whole application, or layer specific?

We went the layer specific route here for authentication, where folks are granted access o things at the layer level.

It might be easier to move into something like this with separate MAPBOOK (whole Geomoose folder) separations first, so as to figure out the needed aspects before going down to the layer level.

With the separate GeoMoose installs, you can put the folder into it's own container for authentication. I'll be the first to admit though, that I haven't even touched IIS, all my experience is with Apache.
