Check your "opacity" setting for the WMS <map-source> in
your map book and set it to 100 (or remove it). As Michael points
out, IE has problems using both Alpha (a band in the image) and
transparency (a setting in the browser) for a PNG image.<br>

data in a GeoMoose
application. The WMS is at MapServer 6.0.1 with a PNG
output type.

WMS also looks fine in ArcGIS, and also in IE with a
simple WMS GetMap request.
