Genius no, but I can be persistent. This is really just a
work-around. If your users expand the layer name in the Catalog by
clicking on it and use Fade/Unfade controls, the problem will appear
again (unless you disable the Fade controls).<br>

Check your "opacity" setting for the WMS
<map-source> in your map book and set it to 100
(or remove it). As
Michael points out, IE has problems using both Alpha
(a band in the image) and
transparency (a setting in the browser) for a PNG

application. The WMS is at MapServer 6.0.1 with a
PNG output type.
