I had some thoughts wrt to polygon labeling a few months ago (<a

but I haven't done anything about it. Perhaps if we get enough
support on the mapserver list, or some funding, things might

Labeling is a mapserver function. Does using POSITION CC in
the LABEL object in the map file help move the label away from
