I give them both options. I even have asked somewhere else regarding to this matter. Adding our own server ofcourse is out of the question.</div><br><div dir="ltr" style="text-align:left;direction:ltr;">They don't explain detail about their rejection to install MS or GS. I think they concern about security etc. The funny thing is they really need the site to have map view.</div><br><div dir="ltr" style="text-align:left;direction:ltr;">They also on their way developing a bussines intelligence which of course will be using maps as their front end. I right now struggling how to help them to achieve this with this limitations. As the IT Director for my County I can easily say that MapServer was not an issue for my web server administrator. (My staff do have a few issues with PHP but those can be addressed.) It would be great to document the issues your IT folks are having. We (GeoMoose community) need to identify the issues and identify solutions as it is a good bet that others are having this issue. Would be happy to enter into discussions with your IT folks regarding this issue. </div>

<div class="MsoNormal">FYI - Polk County, Oregon is a relatively small organization with very limited resources. My staff are very security conscience. We have GeoMoose with MapServer on our application server at this time, but given the ease of setting up VM's it is just so easy these days to develop isolated web servers to support applications. </div>

All the documentation on the site is built around Mapserver, and as Jim mentioned Mapserver is required for some of the “advanced” functionality. Depending on how many people will use your system you really do not need a fast server, especially if you another service for background layers such as bing, google, or a wms air photo server. If your IT department still doesn’t want you to run Mapserver, there are other companies that will host Mapserver for you. <u></u><u></u></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">We are planning to use GeoMoose as part of the company's website. The problem is our IT guys won't allowed us to add mapserver to their server system. I learned that openlayers basic vector reading is geojson etc.<u></u><u></u></p>
