[GeoNode-devel] [OSGeo-Discuss] Starting the build process for OSGeo-Live 9.5

We do not use "our" debian package for osgeo live, but all the dependencies
are packaged as deb files. The python-geonode debian package is not the
same as the geonode debian package, python-geonode does not do any
configuration, just defines the python based dependencies and installs the
python code.

There is an installation script in the osgeo live dvd for GeoNode, it could
use a template project or not, and it uses a shared apache server in there.

The tasks to be done would be:

1. Copy all the new dependencies from stable to the osgeo ppa.
2. Create a new python-geonode package based on the current one in that ppa
(download that package with apt-source and reuse the control file, use the
geonode 2.4 artifact in pypi).
3. Run the osgeo live dvd with the updated packages
4. Look into the reported bug of layers not loading that is reported in the
osgeo tracker, make a point release if any bug is found and fixed.
5. Rinse and repeat.

Unfortunately, I do not have time in the next month to help with this, but
I am happy to answer any questions about it.
