[GeoNode-devel] Notes and remarks on GeoServer 2.9.x upgrade

Dear all,
the update to GeoServer 2.9.x is ready and automatically deployed by the
continuous builder with few remarks:

The WARs and data directories can be found here

http://build.geonode.org/geoserver/latest/

*ATTENTION:* for the moment the default packages (geoserver.war and
data.zip) are still based on the old GeoServer 2.7.4 version in order to
avoid issues during GeoNode installations

*THE NEW WARs/ZIPs* can be found on the same folder with the classifier
*2.9.x*

*ATTENTION: *GeoServer 2.9.x works **only** with Java 1.8+, so you need to
upgrade your Tomcat instances too.

*NOTICE THAT: *The automatic installations from Ubuntu and paver, still use
GeoServer 2.7.4
