[GeoNode-devel] Possible to use different map server?

Hello
This is more like a theoretical question. GeoNode is using GeoServer. Would it be possible to use something else for example QGIS Server? Would this be a lot of work to change that base? How strong is the connection between GeoNode and GeoServer?
