[GeoNode-devel] New functionalities to test on GeoNode "master" (aka 2.9.x)

Dear all,
recently have been merged few more functionalities on GeoNode 2.9.x (master
branch) that might be worth for you to test.


   1. If you have an already in place GeoServer 2.12.x on your instance,
   please update it with the latest war available at
   http://build.geonode.org/geoserver/latest/geoserver-2.12.x.war
   No need to change the GeoServer Data Dir, you just have to update the
   WAR. Just make sure the data dir is not internal to the geoserver webapp,
   otherwise you will lose it if you delete the old WAR. In any case, as
   usual, backup everything first.

   2. Improved support for vector temporal series and CSV files as per
   https://github.com/GeoNode/geonode/issues/3485. In order to enable it,
   see the "local_settings.py.geoserver.sample", the "UPLOADER" section in
   particular.

   3. Improved "Remote Services" management as per
   https://github.com/GeoNode/geonode/issues/3517

   4. Social Account OAuth2 Client support as per
   https://github.com/geosolutions-it/geonode/pull/277 (see documentation
   at
   http://docs.geonode.org/en/master/reference/developers/django-apps.html?highlight=linkedin#geonode-people-user-account-registration-and-profile-management
   )

   5. Enhanced security Workflow (detailed documentation still in progress)
   There are few more options (see  "local_settings.py.geoserver.sample" at
   the bottom), allowing you to enable a validation workflow for uploaded data
   and Groups. In particular putting all the following to "True"

   RESOURCE_PUBLISHING = True
   ADMIN_MODERATE_UPLOADS = True
   GROUP_PRIVATE_RESOURCES = True
   GROUP_MANDATORY_RESOURCES = True

   1. When a user upload a resource, it will be accessible and editable
      only to the owner and administrators
      2. The user *must* associate a Group to the resource, from now on
      Group Managers can edit the resource metadata while the other
group members
      can see the resource in "PENDING APPROVAL" state. The resource won't be
      visible to the others until published.
      3. A Group Manager can only "APPROVE" the Resource
      4. An Administrator will be notified and only at this point can
      "PUBLISH" the Resource

      6. Several improvements:
      1. Printing module
      2. Backup and Restore scripts
      3. Monitoring plugin
      4. Resources list and filtering
      5. Users Invitation and messaging
