[GeoNode-users] Associate information to shapefiles/raster uploaded

Thanks for the reply Simone.

It's no use to me to upload a file with information. The idea is to store
that information in the database because I have to make queries over them.
The main idea is to "ask" the system something like: show me all the
geographic layers where there are forests or desserts or whatever
classification I want, or which ecosystems are in danger in Europe alone,
or which ecosystems have endangered species or even something more complex
like which ecosystems are threatened by processes like polution or
salinization.

In order to do this, I need to create models that contain the fields which
I can use to store the information I need so them I can query them to show
results in the map view. I could create an app with geonode but I'm not
clear how to associate that with a layer (therefore the only map I will
have that is the entire world). Or is there a more straight way like adding
the models.py inside geonode.
