[GeoNode-users] Possible to save a GeoRSS feed to a map?

A little out of my wheelhouse but I've encountered this too... The issue is
that Geoexplorer/OL2 can render georss but that layer type is not stored in
the map configuration JSON format (used to load/save settings and layers in
Geonode). You'd likely have to add that capability but that is where I'd
look...

As an aside the future of geonode (in my opinion) will come from
abstracting the map configuration to save/load into something more
interoperable with newer mapping clients OL3/Leaflet... There is a ticket
on the subject - https://github.com/GeoNode/geonode/issues/1331...With no
OGC standard for a schema this could be hard to do? Are others aware of
potential schema in use for this or has someone put together documentation
on GeoNode's current use of the gxp approach?
