Hi Daniel,

Thanks for your response. Yeah, I think I’ll have to warn our Users about such problems if they don’t pay attention to that. As we don't have so much data yet I think I'm going to reload the data from scratch.

Thanks!

Regards,

Hi David,

From what I understood, you have to choose the correct shapefile encoding the moment you upload the file. If you choose the wrong option, you will get those errors.
I see two ways to fix it. Either edit by hand you wrong entrances in the DB (using PGAdmin) or upload your data again. Your best option will depend on the amount of data you have. But keep in mind that I'm no DB guru so I don't know if there is an automated way to fix all.
Cheers
Daniel

Hi list,

I’ve just noticed that the DB encoding is set to UTF-8 but my data contains special characters and when viewed in the GeoExplorer I get the texts with .

From the PGAdmin I see that the data in the tables is wrong, well not wrong but I can see the character    in the place of some accents or other special characters.

Is there any way to change the encoding of the DB? Do I have to reload the data again?

Thanks in advance.
