[GeoNode-users] geonode-project for templates

Hi all!
In our geonode 2.4 site I used geonode-project to customize logo, images
and little else.
For geonode 2.6, can I use it in the same way? Do you suggest to follow
these instructions: https://github.com/GeoNode/geonode-project  (connect to
geonode/stable) ? It works in the same way?
Is there any up-to-date documentation?
