I took a look at <a href="http://demo.geonode.org" target="_blank">demo.geonode.org</a> and set it like you. The service is recognized, but it definitly should not be empty!<br>

3782 Datasets are listed at <a href="http://geoportal.geodaten.niedersachsen.de" target="_blank">
http://geoportal.geodaten.<wbr>niedersachsen.de</a> and if a harvest that service through Geo<b>Network</b> I get every one of them listed. Why does that not work for GeoNode?<br>

<div dir="ltr"><span dir="ltr">Hi, the configuration in the settings that you did is not to register a remote service but is to use geonetwork as default catalogue instead of pycsw. GeoNode will treat it as a metadata catalogue and not as a data repository,
the data are in postgis + geoserver.
<div>In any case there is no need to put it in the allowed hosts.</div>
<div>If you want to register a remote service the you need to add only the csw backend <a href="http://geoportal.geodaten.niedersachsen.de/harvest/srv/ger/csw" target="_blank">http://geoportal.geodaten.niedersachsen.de/harvest/srv/ger/csw</a> which works on
<a href="http://demo.geonode.org" target="_blank">demo.geonode.org</a> although is empty.</div>
