the thing is that whenever I add a layer to GeoServer (it doesn't matter If the user is staff or super-user or both) the owner of the layer is the "admin" (the one that has both super-user and staff checks activated) I don't know if this has something to do with it.<br>

The layers are taken from a WMS cascaded service.<br>
<br>
I've just added a shape through the upload layers form and it appears as counted.<br>

Hi, no the admin is not useful for this, if they show up in the layers list page then they should also be counted.<br>
Could you check which is the StoreType of those layers? The homepage counts consider 'coverageStore', 'dataStore', 'remoteStore'.<br>

For the difference between staff and superuser, staff is for allowing the access to admin page while the superuser also has all the permissions over the whole site.<br>

No matter with which user I'm logged in , it doesn't count any layer. Even if I'm unlogged.<br>
<br>
Only a user with admin grants can add data directly into GeoServer so I suppose the correct way is to use that user..<br>

Or perhaps it has to be a current user with admin grants??<br>

I have question/doubt.. In my GeoNode installation I have several normal users and one Admin user. With the admin user I've loaded several cascaded WMS's into Geoserver and published several layers as well. I execute geonode update layers to synchronize and it goes OK. But when I visit geonode's main web page it appears (0 layers, 0 maps, 12 users). There're no maps, I know that because we're still at an initial phase, but 0 layers? The thing is that if I go into the layers page I can see the layer list that I already loaded. Is this something related to the user that used to load the layers? Maybe this is a normal behavior?<br>
