I was not subscribed to geos-devel. So here my reply to streak for the
files of geos-devel:

This sounds very good. I will write a patch for the geos port as soon as
the new version will be out. Very nice and fast work :-)

Oh sorry I've forgotten to CC you. The naming problem is already solved it
is no problem of geos. In fact it is only a problem of the freebsd package
postgis not even the source of postgis.

What happened? When i upgraded geos to version 2.1.4 and 2.2.0 the postgis
port was adjusted do use libgeos.so.3 respective libgeos.so.4 but because
of other errors in the postgis port from FreeBSD the build cluster was
unable to build postgis. The result was the occurring error message of the
postgis packages. This message can be fixed with a simple link but is not
needed after the postgis packages has been fixed and rebuild.
