[You might have to make some allowances for my inexperience here!!]. I take it this is normal, and one should use autogen.sh I tried this, however it didn't work and I got some error messages, which I can't remember off the top of my head so I had to use the tarball.</DIV>

Would you be able post a diff between your geos-svn directory tree<BR>that does compile, and the one you have changed? checkout from GEOS 3.0<BR>branch?
