Actually I looked at the bug tracker, and this appears to be an already reported bug so you are right I think.<BR>

In a mythical world the bounding box of a horizontal line would be a polygon where the top and bottom are the same line, but evidentally not the world we live in :)<BR>

Though the test example in bug tracker was using PostGIS so not sure what that version was since PostGIS doesn't even use GEOS for that function (or at least not anymore and that particular bug example works correctly in PostGIS 1.3.5+)<BR>

I'm using GEOS 3.1.0 as well. However on further inspection it looks like PostGIS uses its own implementation of Envelope and not the GEOS one, so you could very well be right that there is something wrong with that GEOS function.<BR>

Unfortunately I don't know enough about GEOS to test it apart from PostGIS. <BR>

Maybe Mateusz or Sandro or Paul can confirm the issue.<BR>
