[GRASS5] GRASS 5 and sockets: default?, NVIZ fixed

Markus, Bill tested the latest version of NVIZ from CVS with my data
and state files and he says that it works OK (it is more "contrasty" than it
used to be but it renders the surface completely). He has also tested
the upgrading of floating point rasters to the new compression:

so that seems to be OK too.

g3d definitely has to go into 5.1 - there is too much work to do to make it
really useful at this point.

Were you able to fix all the installation and compilation problems that were
in beta10-11? Those are the most important to get fixed for the release.
