[GRASS5] beta11-2: cannot import files

  I'm having a terrible time here trying to get data into GRASS. I've tried
v.in.mif with this result:

PNT_TO_AREA failed: (830647.156777, 4619257.566010) (Category 54)
PNT_TO_AREA failed: (830823.302881, 4619209.938751) (Category 55)
PNT_TO_AREA failed: (830722.800641, 4618765.314814) (Category 56)
PNT_TO_AREA failed: (830546.425939, 4618813.532727) (Category 57)
PNT_TO_AREA failed: (830374.456696, 4618862.493940) (Category 58)

and when I try v.in.dxf, it appears to work (that is, the status line
reports 100% conversion, but no file has been written to disk.

  Does anyone have any suggestions for figuring out where the problem
originates?
